Russ Darling, owner / operator of Avid Investigations, Incorporated has been a licensed investigator for over 30 years. In 2005, Russ and his family relocated from Northern California to the Big Island in Hawaii where Russ started the PI firm: Aloha Investigations, Inc. Russ was featured in the October 2007 issue of PI Magazine, as pictured above, documenting the life of a working PI (insurance investigator) in the Hawaiian Island chain. The challenges were many with the logistics of traveling from island-to-island and learning the local nuances of each island. Despite the hardships, clients received first-rate service with consistently favorable results, and relied on Russ as their go-to-investigator for cases in Hawaii. Before moving to Hawaii, Russ operated PacValley Investigations in Northern California after initially becoming licensed as a Private Investigator in 1992 (PI16017). He specialized in claim investigations for insurance companies, self-insureds and third-party administrators.
From 2006 through 2014 Russ offered his investigative expertise in Hawaii for insurance companies, third-party administrators, law firms, and corporations. Russ has demonstrable expertise in property & casualty losses, worker’s compensation, mortgage insurance investigations, as well as civil work for attorneys.
In early 2020, Russ became licensed in Oregon (License: 74548), after relocating to the Beaver State in 2014, and joining the State of Oregon Department of Consumer & Business Services as a Field Investigator. He now offers his decades of expertise to insurance clients and others in Oregon as well as those out-of-state needing the services of a seasoned investigative professional in Oregon. He still maintains a private investigator license (PD862) in Hawaii, since 2006.
